Pani Puri – Semolina Puffs

Being one of the most popular items in the South Asian ‘Chaat’ category, Pani Puri is also known as ‘Gol-Gappa’ and ‘Puchka’. The ‘Puri’ is a crunchy and round hollow ball which is made from deep-fried flour and semolina. On the other hand, ’Pani’ refers to the spicy, tangy and chilled water made with Cilantro-Mint or Tamarind. To enjoy these treats, the ‘Puri’ is cracked open from the top, filled with chickpeas, mashed potatoes, chopped onions, green chilies, or any other filling of one’s choice, dipped in the ’Pani’, followed by preferably being eaten in a single BIG BITE!
